Week Three Takes on North Korea, Bill Cosby, Sexual Assault and Healing
New York, April 14, 2018 — Oria Media announced today the guests who will appear on the third episode of The Last Sip, a half-hour weekly program aimed at activating and mobilizing historically marginalized communities, on Sunday, April 15 at 9:30 a.m. on Free Speech TV. Scott A. Snyder, senior fellow at The Council of Foreign Relations; Dr.Treva B. Lindsey, associate professor of Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies at The Ohio State University; Dr. Carolyn West, professor of Psychology and division chair of the Social, Behavioral, and Human Rights School of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences at the University of Washington Tacoma; and Aishah Shahidah Simmons, filmmaker, writer, lecturer and activist founder of #LoveWithAccountability will all be on the program. For a third week in a row, the majority of guests are women and people of color.
The topics to be discussed include the chances for peace on the Korean Peninsula, the Bill Cosby verdict, how sexual assault impacts black women and girls, and ways that survivors can heal. For the program’s pop culture segment, Hot Tea, the Bill Cosby’s reckoning with #MeToo is explored.
